Why We Haven't Launched Men's Satin-Lined Turbans Yet (And What We're Doing About It)

If you've asked us about a satin-lined turban for men you're not the only one. It's one of the most requested items we get, and honestly, we've been sitting with the question for a while before saying anything publicly. Here's the real story.

The Request We Kept Hearing

Our satin-lined turban has been a favorite for women for a while now. But over and over, we've gotten messages from men, many of you wearing locs  asking for the same protection and comfort in a design built for you. We hear you, and we take that seriously.

Why It's Not as Simple as "Just Make It"

Here's the part most people don't see: our outer fabric is a stretch knit that moves with you, holds its shape, and wraps snug without feeling stiff. It's part of why our current turban fits the way it does.

The problem is the lining. Most satin fabrics on the market are woven for drape, not stretch. Even fabrics labeled "stretch satin" often move very differently from our outer stretch fabric  some barely stretch at all, others stretch so much they lose structure. If the lining and the outer fabric don't move together, the whole turban stops feeling like one piece. It bunches, it shifts, it just doesn't sit right on the head the way it should.

We didn't want to rush a men's satin-lined turban out the door using the wrong lining just to say we launched one. That's not how we do things.

What We're Doing About It

Right now, we're testing stretch satin options that come closer to matching our outer fabric's movement and recovery. That means:

• Ordering real fabric swatches, not just trusting a product description
• Actually sewing test pieces and comparing stretch side-by-side with our current outer fabric
• Being honest with ourselves about hand-feel, drape, and how it holds up over time  not just how it looks in a photo.

We're not going to pretend this part is glamorous. It's yards of fabric, side-by-side stretch tests, and a lot of "close, but not quite" before we find the right match. But it's worth doing right, because you deserve a turban built with the same care as everything else we make.
